Meet The Director: Rachel Mackey

The Granny FlatMeet The Director: Rachel Mackey

Date: Wednesday 4th March 2020

Time: 6:30pm to approx 8:00pm

Venue: JMC Academy

Speaker: Rachel Mackey

AFTRS Graduate Rachel Mackey first wrote about exploding, psychic cane toads at age four and still believes the subject to be unrepresented in the storytelling market.
She learned to draw soon after to really describe just how exploded the cane toads truly were.
Rachel’s projects have been in exhibition all over the world to great acclaim and even greater head scratching.
She is currently working in animation and children’s television and will hopefully continue to do so until they discover that she is actually three weasels in a trench coat. She joins us for a Meet the Director session with a screening of her animation The Granny Flat — which had its NSW Premiere at Flickerfest and has also been touring the world with screenings at: Revelation International Film Festival in Perth, Cinema Des Antipodes in Saint Tropez and the Nashville Film Festival.

Please join us at JMC in March.

Cost: Free for Sydney ACM SIGGRAPH members, guests and non-members.

RSVP: Seating is limited so RSVPing via Facebook is essential.

Probably best known for the annual SIGGRAPH International conference on computer graphics for film, televisions and new media industries, ACM SIGGRAPH also puts on a variety of programs year-round and worldwide to benefit the SIGGRAPH community. The event listed above is hosted by our local chapter with JMC Academy and is free for all chapter members.
