In response to members’ feedback at the Industry Forum held late last year, the upcoming year of events will provide a number of sessions designed to help attendees grapple with the challenge of building a career in DVFx. Our first session will feature Shilo McClean — former Executive Producer at D.film and currently the convenor of the FTO’s Digital Visual Effects Traineeship scheme — with a presentation on compiling showreel content and will offer attendees the opportunity to show their reels and get feedback and advice. Those who wish to obtain feedback should bring a DVD with their current reel or works in progress.
Probably best known for the annual SIGGRAPH International conference on computer graphics for film, televisions and new media industries, ACM SIGGRAPH also puts on a variety of programs year-round and worldwide to benefit the SIGGRAPH community. The event listed above is hosted by our local chapter and is free for all chapter members.
