Call for Submissions: SpaceTime 2010

ACM SIGGRAPH Education Committee invites students to submit their work for The 2010 SpaceTime student competition. The international juried exhibition is open to students who are currently enrolled in school/university, or graduated within the last one year. Interested students can submit up to three works in categories of:

  • Prints
  • Animation
  • Interactive Works

to be judged by an international panel of jurors. Students in K-12 can submit works in the Prints category. Selected works will be exhibited during the annual SIGGRAPH conference in Los Angeles, CA

Submission Deadline: May 8th, 2010

Reproductions of accepted works will be on exhibit at the annual SIGGRAPH conference, and will also tour nationally and internationally for approximately one year with the SpaceTime Traveling Student Exhibition conducted by the ACM SIGGRAPH Education Committee.

SIGGRAPH Asia 2010 Call for Participation

The Call for Participation in SIGGRAPH Asia 2010 which will be in South Korea this year is on. SIGGRAPH Asia 2010 promises to be very interesting.

Date: Wednesday 7th April 2010

Time: 7:00pm to approx 8:00pm

Venue: EGO2 Auditorium, College of Fine Arts (CoFA), Selwyn St, Paddington

Speakers: Shilo McClean — consultant to Screen NSW, Hael Kobayashi, several former trainees

What’s it all about?
We have a stack of show reels that we’re going to screen while we point out key tips for putting together a reel that will showcase your work. If you are planning to apply for the Screen NSW VFX Placement scheme this session is timed to give you the advice you need to edit your reel for the 10 May Deadline for the next round of applications. The requirements of the scheme will be covered as well.

Cost: Free for Siggraph members. $5 cover charge for refreshments for guests and non-members.
(Attendees can sign up as a new member on the night. Annual Membership fees are $40 for professionals and $20 for students)
